The Beauty Kim prayer plant has green leaves splashed with creamy white variegation and dark green markings, so every leaf is a little different. The leaves fold up each evening and open in the morning. It's a standout maranta and safe around cats and dogs.

How to care for it
- Light: bright, indirect light keeps the cream variegation strong. Direct sun can burn the pale sections.
- Water: water when the top inch of soil is dry. Keep it lightly moist, never soggy.
- Water quality: filtered or distilled water helps prevent brown leaf tips.
- Humidity: average to high. It likes a humid spot but is less fussy than a calathea.
- Growth: it spreads and trails with age. Trim long stems to keep it full, or let it spill from a hanging pot.
Common questions
Is it safe for cats and dogs?
Yes. The ASPCA lists the prayer plant (Maranta leuconeura) as non-toxic to cats and dogs. A pet that eats a lot of any plant may get a mild upset stomach, but it won't be poisoned.
Why are new leaves less variegated?
Variegation needs light. If new leaves come in greener, move the plant to a brighter spot, out of direct sun.
Why do the leaves fold up at night?
That's how prayer plants got their name. The leaves lift in the evening and lower in the morning. It's normal and a sign of a healthy plant.
Ships in its nursery pot. Decorative pots in the photos are not included.
