Marble peperomia has thick, glossy leaves marbled in cream and green, so every leaf is a little different. It's a baby rubber plant variety, forgiving and slow-growing, and it's safe around cats and dogs.

How to care for it
- Light: bright, indirect light keeps the cream marbling strong. Avoid harsh afternoon sun.
- Water: let the top inch or two of soil dry out, then water thoroughly. The thick leaves store water, so it forgives a missed watering.
- Soil: a light, well-draining mix in a pot with a drainage hole.
- Humidity: normal home humidity is fine.
- Temperature: 65 to 80°F, away from cold drafts.

Is it safe for cats and dogs?
Yes. The ASPCA lists baby rubber plant (Peperomia obtusifolia) as non-toxic to cats and dogs. A pet that eats a lot of any plant may get a mild upset stomach, but it won't be poisoned.
Why are new leaves greener?
The marbling needs light. If new leaves come in more green, move it to a brighter spot, out of direct sun.
Why are the leaves drooping or turning yellow?
Almost always too much water. Let the soil dry out more between waterings and make sure the pot drains.
