The Chinese money plant has round, coin-shaped leaves held on slender stems, giving it a playful, floating look. Healthy plants push up baby plants around the base that you can pot up and share, which is why it's also called the friendship plant.

How to care for it
- Light: bright, indirect light. Rotate it weekly, since it leans toward the light.
- Water: water when the top inch of soil is dry. Slightly drooping leaves mean it's thirsty.
- Soil: a light, well-draining mix in a pot with a drainage hole.
- Babies: separate pups once they're 2 to 3 inches tall and pot them in their own containers.

Is it safe for cats and dogs?
The Chinese money plant isn't on the ASPCA's toxic plant list, and the ASPCA lists two of its relatives, the aluminum plant and artillery plant, as non-toxic to cats and dogs. A pet that eats a lot of any plant may get a mild upset stomach.
Why is it leaning to one side?
It grows toward its light source. Rotate the pot a quarter turn every week to keep it upright.
