How to care for it

Is it safe for cats and dogs?
Yes. The ASPCA lists the Boston fern as non-toxic to cats and dogs. A pet that eats a lot of any plant may get a mild upset stomach, but it won't be poisoned.
Why are the fronds turning brown and crispy?
Usually the soil dried out or the air is too dry. Keep the soil evenly moist and raise the humidity. Trim off damaged fronds and new ones will grow in.
