Rosso peperomia has glossy, deeply ridged green leaves with rich red undersides, on red stems. The two-tone contrast makes it pop on a shelf or desk, and it's safe around cats and dogs.

How to care for it
- Light: bright to medium, indirect light. Avoid harsh afternoon sun.
- Water: let the top inch or two of soil dry out, then water thoroughly. The thick leaves store water, so it forgives a missed watering.
- Soil: a light, well-draining mix in a pot with a drainage hole.
- Humidity: normal home humidity is fine.
- Temperature: 65 to 80°F, away from cold drafts.

Yes. The ASPCA lists ripple peperomia (Peperomia caperata) as non-toxic to cats and dogs. A pet that eats a lot of any plant may get a mild upset stomach, but it won't be poisoned.
Why are the leaves drooping or turning yellow?
Almost always too much water. Peperomia leaves store water, so let the soil dry out more between waterings and make sure the pot drains.
Can it grow in low light?
It tolerates medium light, but it stays fuller and more colorful in bright, indirect light.
